Wire is the name of a furniture collection created by Álvaro Díaz Hernández, a tribute to straight lines in these clean, inspiring pieces.

This young designer, hailed as a new talent at the most recent DMY International Design Festival Berlin, has created a series of objects for everyday use which focus on clean shapes, lightness, a timeless aesthetic and functionality as storage for small objects, magazines, books or small decorative pieces.

These are incredibly light structures, both in material and visually, and can be integrated perfectly into any home to help organise space. Their design also allows these pieces to be placed both on the floor and on the wall.

Each piece is made by hand in a traditional manner by bending, soldering and coating iron

The graduate in Interior Design from the Escuela Superior de Diseño in Madrid combines his work as a freelance furniture “creator” together with collaborating with various architecture studios, where infographics, 3D architectural modelling and interior design seamlessly blend together. His Wire collection, which was also exhibited at Ventura Lambrate 2016 during the most recent Furniture Fair in Milan, is his first work to be presented. It gained wide media coverage and is evidence of his passion for architecture, minimalism and the abstract.

Looking to the future, the young creator’s coming months will be filled with the designing an industrial-style bar near Matadero Madrid; a project with Nyova, a Made in Spain furniture design company, in which Aire, his first armchair prototype will be unveiled; and plenty of travel to attend fairs and work abroad.
