Since it was founded in the year 2000, the Wright auction house, with headquarters in New York and Chicago, has become a specialist in modern and contemporary design.
On September 10, its Chicago headquarters will celebrate the first large auction of the season with an unprecedented event. More than 300 original pieces from the JF Chen Collection, all signed by Charles and Ray Eames, will go up for auction after having been exhibited all over the United States.
This occasion will be one not to be missed, as the auction will include furniture from the first projects that the two designers worked on together. There will be rare examples of pieces produced in the 60s finished in rosewood and pieces produced at the end of the 80s finished in wenge wood.
Joel Chen, the one now selling off these pieces, spent more than 20 years putting together this collection and wishes to highlight its exceptional nature, especially as it includes some pieces that have hardly ever been on sale.
